LIVE IN TRAINING PROGRAM – Levels 1 to 3
All live-in training programs come with a free consultation on behaviour modification and video showing live-in course available in obedience. With all live-in training programs you are required for four 1.5 hour handling sessions.
Level 1 – Basic on lead 11 day program
It deals with behavioral problems like pulling out when being walked and dogs that won’t walk at all on a lead.
The level one training program is an 11 day course this is where your dog stays with us for 7 days and we then need you for 4 x 1.5 hour sessions after the dog has been trained. This course teaches your dog 11 exercises right from loose lead heeling to the automatic sit, sit/stay down/ stay stand /stay and up to hand signal control as well as the recall on lead. This program is ideal for owners to gain control on lead with your dog. All handling lessons are included.
Level 2 – 14 day course
It deals with behavioral problems like: digging, chewing, barking, jumping up on people, separation anxiety, not coming when called toilet training and more.
The level two training program is a 14 day course this is where your dog stays with us for 10 days and we then need you for 4 x 1.5 hour sessions after the dog has been trained. This course teaches your dog 17 exercises and takes the dog to a basic off lead standard. Some of the exercises they learn are to walk on and off lead sit /stand/ down/ all there stays recall on and off lead hand signal and verbal control on and off lead, re-heal from sit, stand and down position and more. All handling lessons are included.
Level 3 – 24 day course
It deals with long lasting behavioural problems like Digging, Chewing, Barking, Jumping up on people, separation anxiety, not coming when called, pulling washing off line, animal aggression, , jumping over fences, going under fences, property destruction and more.
The level three training program is an 24 day course this is where your dog stays with us for 20 days and we then need you for 4 x 1.5 hour sessions after the dog has been trained. This course teaches your dog all of level 2 training in total 31 exercises are covered and it takes the dog to a advanced off lead standard. Some of the exercises that are covered in this program are on and off lead heeling, sit/stand/ down/ all there stays, out of sight stays, recall/direction, recalls stand, down and sit at the walk, stand down and sit at the recall, on and off lead hand signal and verbal control and more. This is an advanced educational program All handling lessons are included.
PROTECTION TRAINING PROGRAM – Levels 4 to 5
All live-in protection training programs come with a free consultation including a video showing and assessment on your dog to ensure that it is suitable for this type of training program.
Level 4 – 24 day course
This course is 20 days live-in and 4 lessons with the owner. Watch dog training covers the same advanced obedience as level 3 training to give you the necessary control needed over the dog. It also covers the same behavioral problems as the level 3 program. With this course we teach the dog to respond in an aggressive manner to an offender that is showing aggression or suspicion, this dog is also taught to respond to a verbal command of “watch” used if you were approached passively by an offender the dog will then become on alert and show aggression to that person to deter them from coming any closer. The dog is also taught car and property security. No bite work is done in this course.
Level 5 – 26 day course
Security dog training covers the same advanced obedience as level 3 training to give you the necessary control needed over the dog. With this course the dog is taught all of level 4 training techniques, also covered in this program is the bite work where the dog is taught on and off lead attacks the assault on the handler where if the handler is attacked the dog will automatically respond, then leave and return to the handler, pat down, arrest and transport of the offender and crowd control. This work is carried out with concealed training equipment to set up the real .life situation and bite predictability. We also condition the dog to work in different environments, building, unstable ground etc.
PROGRESSION TRAINING PROGRAM – Levels 6 to 7
Level 6 – 60 day course
Advanced security dog training covers the same obedience exercises as level 3 training but at a great distance and higher standard. Level 5 Security dog training is also incorporated in this course.
This dog is then taught basic man trailing and air born scent techniques, building search, then find and hold, release, hold, or arrest and transport.
Level 7 – 6 week course
It deals with long lasting behavioral problems like: Digging, Chewing, Barking, Jumping up on people, Separation Anxiety, Not Coming when called, Pulling washing of line, Animal and human aggression, dominance over children and adults, jumping over fences, going under fences, property destruction and more.
The 6 week course is designed for owner and dog starting from basic on lead work to a high off lead standard. This course consists of 6 consecutive Saturday mornings from 8am to 10.30am in a class with 10-15 people and dogs, being instructed by one of our professional trainers. This course is designed to give you total control of your dog teaching some 17 advanced exercises and dealing with all behaviour modification problems.
SPECIFIC TRAINING PROGRAMS
PRIVATE TUITION PROGRAM – 4 week program
This course is either in the comfort of your home or onsite at Coltrandi Training Centre.
The lesson is conducted with one of Coltrandi’s professional instructors teaching you from basic on lead to off lead obedience work. Each lesson lasts approximately 1 hour, we teach 17 exercises throughout the course and deal with all kinds of behavioral problems.
PUPPY INTERACTIVE PROGRAM – 4 week program
This course is to teach your puppy basic knowledge on how to socially interact with other pups and people. It teaches them very basic commands such as stand, sit, down, come. We teach them to accept that being handled by various people is not a threat, which in turn will allow visits to the vets less stressful for you and your puppy.
AGILITY TRAINING – 6 week program
Yes dogs have plenty of energy to burn, all aspects of training can help in many different kinds of behavioral problems giving your dog exercise he enjoys will certainly keep him fit and active “at the right times”, mentally and physically satisfied. You can teach your dog to jump when he is commanded and not when he feels like it.
They learn many different training technique’s like weaving, going over the A frame through the material sock, walking the plank, high jumps, broad jumps and many more. We also teach dog tricks and food refusal.
BAIT TRAINING – 8 Day live in program
Pre-requisites and evaluation required prior to training
This training is where your dog is taught to sit and wait for a selected command to eat food from their food bowl. They are taught not to eat food from your hand or food off the ground.
We then teach you how to maintain this training at home to ensure that your dog is safe guarded from ever taking baits. We recommend testing every 12-18mths.
TRACKING PROGRAM
Pre-requisites and evaluation required prior to training.
All dogs must be evaluated for these tracking courses and have a minimum basic knowledge of obedience training before starting any of these courses
Basic – 14 day live in program
This basic tracking course teaches the dog to detect and follow a ground or air borne scent of a human, they must have a basic knowledge of obedience. The track starts off as a basic short straight line and advances into a longer track with several turns. They are taught to cast and stay true to the initial track they were following. After training is complete the handler will be taught how to maintain this training technique with private one on one session.
Advanced – 48 day live in program
This course will teach your dog to track basic and advance tracks over difficult ground such as hard, rocky and mixed scented surfaces etc. The tracks will become longer older and back tracking techniques will be introduced. They learn to use air borne scent and discriminate between fouled tracks and the original scented track. Several private lessons are required with handlers for this advanced tracking program.
